All About Me

I have worked with families since 2008.
Mainly as a nanny,
I have been ensuring my clients' family's well-being by providing the guidance, resources, and the necessary time off to handle work-life balance with ease while they have the reassurance that their children are in safe hands.

I have all the relevant qualifications to help you with all your parenting needs. I am a qualified early years teacher and postnatal care practitioner with knowledge and interest in child psychology, child behaviour, sleep training, potty training, nutrition, and baby-led weaning. I am also a soon-to-be certified baby massage instructor. I have experience looking after kids from newborns ( and mothers during pregnancy) to early teens. I have looked after twins/multiples, kids with special needs, food intolerances, and life-threatening allergies (anaphylaxis).
With a holistic approach, I aim to create a life balance for my clients' families that ensures everyone's well-being and strengthens the bonds within your family.

Yours sincerely,
Amanda

Nanny Manda
Style
The decision to bring a nanny into your family's life opens up a world of possibilities and benefits. However, I understand that selecting the right nanny can feel like a daunting task. That's where I come in!
Allow me to introduce myself and share how I can make this process smoother for you. By getting to know me a bit better, you'll see firsthand how I can contribute positively to your family dynamic. Let's explore together and see if we're a perfect match!

My nanny style: I am primarily fun-loving, but I can also be strict when the situation calls for it. I use fun and magic to make the day run smoothly. Some of my nanny kids still think I may be Mary Poppins' long-lost cousin. I have eyes on my back and a knack for gently persuading children to do what needs to be done with a touch of my magic power.
Kids understand more than what you might think and I believe an explanation and some kindness to a situation go a long way and introducing this early on will have many benefits later on, especially at the 'terrible twos' stage. My discipline style is strongly connected to this. Where possible, a fun distraction works wonders. Tackling underlying issues like hunger or tiredness with a pinch of empathy and kindness solves the rest. Explaining and understanding is the core of discipline and adjusting techniques to the child's needs is pivotal. Some of my charges prefered alone time to deal with big emotions, some needed support and lots of reassurance.

The extras you get with having Nanny Manda:

-
Nanny diary: with all my families, I have had a diary where I leave a little summary of each day and have a section to communicate with parents on day-to-day needs and tasks. This includes meals, sleep, feeding, hygiene times and items. It also provides a little memory book that parents like to flip through later on when their kids grow up a bit and look back at all the fun things we have done together.
-
Early learning: By planning educational activities I keep parents updated on their children's development and well-being. I believe in working on emotional and social skills mostly under 5 to build a strong foundation for life but also incorporate early learning to give an advantage in school settings. Such as early reading and phonics, early maths and communication.
-
Regular developmental checks to keep my planning in line with the child's needs and to provide insight for the parents on their little one's milestones and achievements.
-
I use my knowledge to the best interest of the child and keep myself up to date with changes to the research and science in childcare
-
First aider for a piece of mind also DBS checked and insured, willing to re-register with Ofsted if family requires.
-
I am flexible with schedules and can accommodate extra hours such as overtime if the parents running late or babysitting.
-
Having a nanny is a lifelong support for your little one. All my charges can contact me any time with anything and I try my best to meet for at least special occasions every year and to be there just in case.
-
Keeping up with caring for children, all nursery duties covered during working hours.
-
I take pride in providing healthy but delicious meals for the children or the whole family. The cooking book coming soon.
-
Support and guidance for the parents dealing with common issues, such as sleep shaping, developing a good routine or potty training (and more!)
-

Infant massage therapists perform various functions, providing effective massaging services to infants; helping them to have restful sleep, stress reduction, and comfort from growing pains.
As a newborn care specialist, I am trained and experienced in all things related to newborns – from feeding and sleep schedules to diaper changes and overall baby care. With knowledge, I help new mothers recover from childbirth and manage their health and well-being during the postpartum period.
Diploma in Early Years Education and Care - Early Years Educator (EYE)
Level 3 qualified early years education and childcare. I have acquired great knowledge about child development, safeguarding, and how to work with other professionals and parents as a team to ensure their children's well-being and development.
In this course, as part of the Early Years Educator Diploma, I have received a certification in food safety covering: the importance of handling and storing food correctly, personal hygiene and knowledge of food safety legislation.
With this Child Behaviour Diploma, I have ascertained a more profound knowledge of behavioural issues and how to help children cope with trauma, transitions, depression and many more through research studies.
While acquiring this qualification in introductory Child Psychology, I have learnt about child development theories up to recent years, which helped a great deal in my carrier; understanding the reasons behind behaviour and what we can expect at a certain age that is developmentally appropriate.
This child nutritionist course covers knowledge about nutrition for babies and mothers through pregnancy and breastfeeding to support babies in their development, brain growth and overall health: covering baby first foods and nutrition and baby weaning, both baby-led and soft foods.
